That what is so awful or “comical”
about the idea that if someone comes for a genderqueer POC
( who is so often misgendered as a woman it offends triply because:
It’s done to to purposely cause the trauma of dysphoria : Gaslighting
To assert the right of creating names and categories regardless of their own choice : Opression
To emphasize how vulnerable and susceptible they want Black Women to be : Racialized Misogyny

in ways that have included I SHIT YOU NOT

what is so comical about the idea that if you come across that territory using those as your banners

Let’s also talk about how power dynamics work around this, because it seems like some folk are awful confused.
I’ve got exactly one minion, and if you don’t know who she is you haven’t been paying attention. That’s something specifically negotiated and agreed upon, and no one else is a part of that.
I’ve got exactly zero soldiers, hence no army. Nor am I anyone’s soldier, minion, or other such.
I’m not even anyone’s ally. Sometime real soon, I’ll tumble about what’s wrong with “ally” as a model for this sort of thing.
I have a good number of friends. Not acquaintances, friends. People who know I know I can rely on and can rely on me. Some folks hold that check, some folks have cashed that check, some folks have come through when I had to cash that check. They know who they are, and if you don’t then it’s not your business. That’s no army, that’s a band of peers holding together because friendship’s like that. Reach for my friend, and one of us will see to it that you pull back a stump. Reach for me, I know someone has it covered, too, as Blackamazon notes above.
But sometimes, oftentimes, it doesn’t stop with that circle of friends. Some things you simply don’t let pass because “some thing do not fly, even in America.” Doesn’t matter if you’re friends with the person, doesn’t matter if you’re acquaintances, doesn’t matter if you don’t particularly like the person. Sometimes you do it because that’s what you do. That isn’t alliance, that isn’t being part of an army, that’s acting in one’s own interest and can we finally lay to rest once and for all that there’s something wrong with supporting things that are right because one finds it in one’s own best interests to do so?
This very large group of peers that’s bringing this issue to certain doorsteps isn’t doing so because anyone ordered us to. We’re doing it because what the mods of that tumblr did is so disgustingly wrong and inexcusable that the only decent response is to bring it right back to their door.
None of us take orders from Riley, and they know it which is why they don’t give us orders in the first place. I greatly doubt they want the responsibility of getting to give us orders anyhow. Hell, more often than not the closest they come to giving orders is saying we should stay out of arguments that aren’t ours to enter.
